Introduction:

This like the buffalo that roam, project management is found at specific spots within an organization, as well as on alterative grazing grounds depending on the season and the time. The premise behind the enterprise project management is that it should permeate the organization. The project office is key to ensure that project management is effectively applied across the organization. This module gives the complete insight to the concept with clear pathways to set up the project office.

Prerequisite :

This course is designed for those who have some project management knowledge, but who are new to Microsoft Project, or have preliminary knowledge of Microsoft Project.

Course Outline

Developing the common vocabulary about Project, Project Management. Understanding the integrated approach to project management on the basis of PMBOK. Try and identify what does a PM do in the entire project life cycle. Understand the impact of organization structure on the project management integration and project manager's efficiency. Find out the support that PM expects from the organization. Evolving the concept of Project Office. Identifying and evolving the various types of project office.

Finding pathways for how to go about setting up a project office. Understanding the stakeholders of this endeavor. Suggested DOs and DONTs. Developing a draft plan or concept document.
